Shiraz city

is located in the central part of Fars province and in the southwest of Iran. Its area is about 178.891 square kilometers. As of the 2016 national census, the population of the city was 1,565,572 people, a census in 2021 showed an increase in the city’s population to 1,995,500 people that it made Shiraz as the fifth populous city in Iran and the most populous city in south of the country.

Shiraz city, with an altitude of 1486 meters above sea level and located in the mountainous and fertile region of South Zagros, has four seasons and moderate climate.

Fars province, with an area of 123,946 square kilometers, occupies about 5.7% of the total area of the country and is located in the geographical position of 27’3 to 31’40’ north latitude and 36’50’ to 55’35’ east longitude.
